FP-90 System Program Ver.1.05


How to know the version
Before you start, check the system program version of your FP-90.
 
  1. Press the [ Function ] button .
  2. Press and hold the [ > ] button and select "Version."
  3. Press the [ Function ] button.
    If this shows the latest version (version 1.05 or later), there's no need to update your FP-90.
  4. Press the [ Exit ] button .

Functionality Improvement
  • Support for Piano Partner 2 Version 2.0 was added.

Additional Functions
  • "A.Bass + Cymbl" tone was added.
  • A function was added for muting out a desired part (right hand, left hand, or accompaniment) from the Piano Partner 2 application during song playback.
    * With the Piano Partner 2 application, you can use the mute feature of the version you're currently using.
Bug Fix
The following bug was fixed.
  • In rare cases, the sound volume becomes low when a sound is played while the damper pedal is depressed.

What you will need to update your FP-90
  • FP-90
  • USB Memory ( Roland's M-UF1G or M-UF2G is recommended )
    * The USB Memory need to be formatted on a FP-90.
  • A computer with a USB connector ( Windows, Mac )
  • Update file downloaded from this page
 
Cautions with the update
  • We recommend that you save your user data to a USB memory before you perform the update. If a problem occurs and your user data is lost, you will be able to restore the original state by reloading the data you saved. For details on the procedure, refer to the following sections of the Owner's Manual.
    • Initializing the Memory (Format Media)
    • Saving Piano Settings (Piano Setup Export)
    • Loading Piano Settings (Piano Setup Import)
    • Copying a Saved Song (Copy Song)
    • Saving a Registration Set (Registration Set Export)
    • Loading a Saved Registration Set (Registration Set Import)
  • Never power-off your FP-90 while the update is in progress!
    If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the FP-30 won't be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
  • We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.
 
Getting the update file
It is an archive file in zip format, please double click on the file to expand. After expanding the file, the folder "fp90_sys_v105" holding the file "R070_UPA.BIN" will be appeared.
 
Procedure for the update
Creating the Update USB Memory
  1. Copy update files R070_UPA.BIN to the root directory of a USB Memory.

Update Procedure
  1. Press and hold the power button to turn off the power.
  2. Connect the USB Memory to the USB memory port on the digital piano.
  3. Hold down the [ Ambience ] button and turn on the power to the digital piano.
    The message " ===update=== " appears on the display, and the update operation starts.
    * Continue to hold down the [ Ambience ] button until " ===update=== " appears on the display.
  4. When the message " ===update finished.=== " appears, the update operation has finished.
    * The update operation takes about 2 minutes.
  5. Press and hold the power button to turn off the power.
    Detach the USB Memory from the digital piano.
