TD-50X System Program ( Ver.1.10 )

HOW TO KNOW THE VERSION

The update procedure differs depending on the version currently in use. Before you start, check the system program version of your TD-50X.

Press [SETUP] to invoke the setup screen.
Use the PAGE [UP] and [DOWN] buttons to access the page where the INFO icon is located (SETUP MENU 2).
Press the [F3] button to select the INFO icon.
The current version appears on the display ("Program Version").
* If information other than Program Version is displayed, press the [F1] button (PROGRAM).
Press the [EXIT] button to return to the DRUM KIT screen.

* Don't perform the update if the product is already up-to-date.

Additional Functions

This update provides support for wireless pads of DWe (Acoustic-Electronic Convertible Drum Kit of DW).

GETTING THE UPDATE FILE

Download td50x_sys_v110.zip.
The downloaded file is an archive in zip format. After downloading it, expand the file.
After expanding the file, the folder "td50x_sys_v110" holding the file "TD50X_UPA.BIN" will appear.

CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE

Never apply this update data to any product other than the TD-50X. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
Never power-off your TD-50X while the update is in progress!
If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the TD-50X won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.

BACKING UP TO SD CARD

--- Before updating, carry out a data backup. ---

Turn on TD-50X.
Insert the SD Card into the TD-50X's SD card slot.
Press the [SD CARD] button.
Use the PAGE [UP] [DOWN] buttons to access the SD CARD BACKUP ALL screen.
Press the [F1] (SAVE) button.
The SD CARD SAVE <BACKUP ALL> screen appears.
Move the cursor to "With User Sample" and insert a check mark.
Move the cursor to "Bank Number" and choose a backup number for saving the settings.
Press the [F5] (SAVE) button.
Press the [F5] (EXECUTE) button.
Select "OK" and press the [ENTER] button.
The settings are saved in the SD card.

HOW TO PDATE

Creating the Update SD Card

Copy the TD50X_UPA.BIN file from within the td50x_sys_v110 folder to the root directory on the [TD-50X formatted] SD card.
* Don't simply copy the "td50x_sys_v110" folder itself.
Disconnect the SD Card from your computer as follows.
[Windows]
Use the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the Windows task tray to un-mount the SD Card. And then disconnect the SD Card from your computer.
[Mac]
Drag the Drive icon of the SD Card into the trash in the dock. And then remove the SD Card from your computer.

Update Procedure

Insert the SD Card into the TD-50X's SD card slot.
Power on while holding the Song Record button [•].
When " === update === " appears at the top left of the display, you can release the Song Record button.
" = update finished.= " appears in the display when the update process is complete.
Turn off the power and then eject the SD card from the TD-50X.
Detach the SD Card, then turn the TD-50X on and verify that the version has been updated.

RESTORING THE FACTORY SETTINGS

Press the [SETUP] button.
Use the PAGE [UP] [DOWN] buttons to access the SETUP MENU 3 screen.
Press the [F1] (FACTORY RESET) button.
Move the cursor to "Reset with User Sample" and insert a check mark.
Press the [F5] (FACTORY RESET) button.
Select "OK" and press the [ENTER] button.
The "Factory Reset" operation will be executed.

LOADING BACKUP DATA FROM AN SD CARD

Turn on TD-50X.
Insert the SD Card into the TD-50X's SD card slot.
Press the [SD CARD] button.
Use the PAGE [UP] [DOWN] buttons to access the SD CARD BACKUP ALL screen.
Press the [F2] (LOAD) button.
The SD CARD LOAD <BACKUP ALL> screen appears.
Move the cursor to "With User Sample" and insert a check mark.
Move the cursor to "Bank Number" and choose the backup number for importing the settings.
Press the [F5] (LOAD) button.
Select "OK" and press the [ENTER] button.
The backup data is loaded from the SD card.

* Data backed up using a TD-50X at version 1.10 cannot be loaded into a TD-50X at earlier than version 1.10.
* In case of 1 kit backup data, it can be loaded by TD-50X at earlier than version 1.10.

Roland Software License Agreement

In no event shall Roland Corporation be liable to end-users for any damages whatsoever, including but not limited to financial damages for any loss of profits or information arising from the use of, or inability to use this updater. The foregoing provision is effective even if Roland Corporation has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

This is a legal agreement between you (an individual or a corporation) and Roland Corporation (herein referred to as "Roland") regarding the usage of this software product (herein referred to as "SOFTWARE"). Please read carefully the terms of this License Agreement before installing or using the SOFTWARE. By installing, copying, or starting the use of the SOFTWARE, you hereby consent to the terms of this License Agreement.

1. GRANT OF LICENSE

Roland grants you the following non-exclusive rights to use the SOFTWARE in accordance with the terms of this License Agreement.
(a) You may only use the SOFTWARE on a specific single computer at one time. Use of the SOFTWARE shall include loading the SOFTWARE into temporary memory (i.e., RAM) or installing the SOFTWARE into storage media (i.e., hard disk) of the computer on which you will use the SOFTWARE.
(b) You may make one copy of the SOFTWARE for backup purposes only (on floppy disk, magneto optical disk, DAT or the similar media), but you are prohibited to make any other copy.

2. COPYRIGHT

The SOFTWARE and its copyrights are the property of Roland and are protected by all international copyright laws and treaties.
Therefore, you must treat the SOFTWARE like any other copyrighted material (i.e., a book or a CD). All rights that are not provided for herein are reserved by Roland.

3. OTHER RESTRICTIONS

(a) You shall not modify, change, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the SOFTWARE and the copyright notice and copyrighted logo.
Unauthorized copying, uploading to another network, distributing, modifying and/or attaching this software to other media or any other sales item is expressly forbidden.
(b) You shall not loan, rent, lease, sublicense or transfer the SOFTWARE, either in whole or in part, to any third party. But you may permanently transfer the SOFTWARE and accompanying printed materials provided you retain no copies of the Software and recipient agrees to the terms of this License Agreement. If the SOFTWARE has been updated or upgraded, any transfer of the SOFTWARE must include the most recent update and all prior versions.
(c) If this SOFTWARE contains multiple templates of media (such as floppy disks and CD-ROM) and these media contain the same software, you may use only the one form of media that is appropriate for your computer. You shall not use the remaining form(s) of media on another computer.
(d) You may not use the Software from multiple locations of a multi-user or networked system at any time.

3.2 Open source software and other third party software
(a) The SOFTWARE may use open source software and other third party software (herein referred to as "OSS, etc.").
(b) The OSS, etc. in the case of the preceding paragraph shall be subject to the OSS, etc. license (herein referred to as "OSS License"), and you shall comply with the OSS License.
(c) If there are any differences between the terms of this License Agreement and the OSS License, the OSS License shall prevail and the terms of this License Agreement shall not apply.

4. NO WARRANTY

Roland makes no warranty, either expressed or implied, with respect to any of the software, including, without limitation, any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

5. NO LIABILITY

Roland can not reply to inquiries regarding this system software updater. Please read the instructions completely, and please note that you should use the SOFTWARE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
In no event shall Roland be liable to end-users for any damages whatsoever, including but not limited to financial damages for any loss of profits or information arising from the use of, or inability to use this product. The foregoing provision is effective even if Roland has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Even if the SOFTWARE has any material, verifiable, and reproducible program errors, Roland shall have no liability to modify such errors.

6. TERMINATION OF THE LICENSE

Roland reserves the right to terminate this License Agreement if you fail to comply with any of the terms of this License Agreement. Upon such termination, you shall immediately stop using the SOFTWARE.

7. GENERAL

(a) Any provision of this Agreement which is prohibited or unenforceable in any jurisdiction shall be ineffective to the extent of such prohibition or unenforceability without affecting, impairing or invalidating the remaining provisions hereof.
(b) This License Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of State of California without reference to the principles of conflicts of laws.
