DP603 / GP607 System Program (Ver.1.18)

How to know the version
Before you start, check the system program version of your DP603 / GP607.
  1. Simultaneously press the [ Ambience ] button and the [ Brilliance ] button.
  2. Press and hold the [ > ] button and select "Version."
  3. Press the [ Enter ] button.
    The version information is displayed.
    If this shows the latest version (version 1.18 or later), there's no need to update your DP603 / GP607.
  4. Simultaneously press the [ Ambience ] button and the [ Brilliance ] button.

Functionality Improvement
  • Support for Piano Partner 2 Version 2.0 was added.
Change the specification
  • The factory-default state of the "Bluetooth Page Turn/MIDI" setting was changed from "Page Turn" to "MIDI."
    Performing an update does not change the setting you're currently using. You can continue to use it unchanged.

    Carrying out the procedure in "Restoring the Factory Settings (Factory Reset)" after updating changes the "Bluetooth Page Turn/MIDI" setting to "MIDI."
    Subsequently, "page-turning" or connection to the Piano Partner 2 app might be impossible. If this happens, delete the pairing data on the iOS device.

Bug Fixes
The following bugs were fixed.
  • In rare cases, the sound volume becomes low when a sound is played while the damper pedal is depressed.
  • When a song recorded as an SMF is converted to audio, parts cannot be muted.
  • Turning on the power while an audio player or other audio playback device is connected to the Input jack sometimes produces speaker noise.

  • DP603 / GP607
  • USB Memory
    * The USB Memory need to be formatted on a DP603 / GP607 or PC.
  • A computer with a USB connector ( Windows, Mac )
  • Update file downloaded from this page
Cautions with the update
  • We recommend that you save your user data to a USB memory before you perform the update. If a problem occurs and your user data is lost, you will be able to restore the original state by reloading the data you saved. For details on the procedure, refer to the following sections of the Owner's Manual.
    • Initializing the Memory (Format Media)
    • Saving Piano Settings (Piano Setup Export)
    • Loading Piano Settings (Piano Setup Import)
    • Copying a Saved Song (Copy Song)
  • Never power-off your DP603 / GP607 while the update is in progress!
    If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the won't be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
  • We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.
Getting the update file
It is an archive file in zip format, please double click on the file to expand. After expanding the file, the folder "hplx_sys_v118" holding the file "R066_UPA.BIN" will be appeared.
Procedure for the update
Creating the Update USB Memory
  1. Copy update files R066_UPA.BIN to the root directory of a USB Memory.

Update Procedure
  1. Connect the USB Memory to the USB memory port on the digital piano.
  2. Hold down the [ Ambience ] button and turn on the power to the digital piano.
    The message " ===update=== " appears on the display, and the update operation starts.
    * Continue to hold down the [ Ambience ] button until " ===update=== " appears on the display.
  3. When the message " ===update finished.=== " appears, the update operation has finished.
    * The update operation takes about 2 minutes.
  4. Press and hold the power button to turn off the power.
    Detach the USB Memory from the digital piano.
