GO:PIANO System Program (Ver.1.20)

Check what version you're using
Before you start, check the system program version of your GO:PIANO.
  1. Press the [] (power) button to turn on the power to the GO:PIANO.
  2. Press the [] button.
  3. Press the [] [] buttons repeatedly to select "VERSION."
    The current version is shown on the display.
    * Don't perform the update if the product is already up-to-date.
  4. Press the [] button to go back to the original screen.

Functionality Improvement
  • Support for Piano Partner 2 Version 2.0 was added.
  • The metronome display no longer changes automatically.
    It is possible to play while leaving the tempo display unchanged.
  • When the power is turned off, the message "POWER OFF" is shown on the display.

What you will need to update your GO:PIANO
  • AC adaptor
  • USB cable
  • A computer with a USB connector ( Windows, Mac )
Caution when performing the update
  • Never apply this update data to any product other than the GO:PIANO. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
  • Never power-off your GO:PIANO while the update is in progress!
    If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the GO:PIANO won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
  • We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.

Getting the update file
Please open/extract the downloaded "" file on your computer to get the update file in the "go61_sys_v120" folder.

Procedure for the update
  • You must not rename the extracted file.
  • When performing an update, be sure to connect the AC adaptor included with the GO:PIANO.
  • Never turn off the GO:PIANO's power while the update is in progress. Otherwise the system program or the GO:PIANO itself may be destroyed.

Please install the extracted system program file into your GO:PIANO according to the following procedure.
  1. Make sure the power to the GO:PIANO is turned off.
  2. Connect the computer to the GO:PIANO's USB port by a USB cable.
  3. Press the [] (power) button twice in succession, and on the second press, continue to hold down the button.
    Continue holding down the [] (power) button until the message on the display changes from "ROLAND" to "UPDATER."
    When the message "UPDATER" appears on the display, release the [] (power) button.
  4. Open the "ROLAND" drive folder in your personal computer.
  5. Copy go61_s_up.bin in the "go61_sys_v120" folder into the "ROLAND" drive by dragging and dropping it.
    * Do not copy the &go61_sys_v120" folder.
  6. After copying the file is completed, remove the USB drive from the personal computer.
    With Windows
    Right-click on the "ROLAND" icon in My Computer and execute "Eject."
    With Mac
    Drag the "ROLAND" icon to the Trash icon in the Dock.
  7. Disconnect the USB cable.
    The update starts automatically. The update takes approximately 30 seconds.
    * Never switch off the power while the update is in progress.
    When Finish! is shown, the update has finished.
  8. Hold down the [] (power) button for 1 second or longer to turn off the power to the GO:PIANO.
