HP704 HP702 System Program ( Ver.1.02 )
HOW TO KNOW THE VERSION
Before you start, check the system program version of your HP704 / HP702.
- Press the [] (settings) button.
- Turn the [] ( select/confirm ) knob to select "Version."
- Press the [] ( select/confirm ) knob.
The version information is displayed.
If this shows the latest version (version 1.09 or later), there's no need to update your HP704 / HP702. - Press the [] (settings) button.

Change the specification
- Changed the specification to hide the display when the screen saver is operating.
- During audio recording, different messages are now displayed when there is no USB flash drive or when the file is full.

The following bugs were fixed.
The following bugs were fixed.
- Sostenuto remains applied after playback of a song containing Sostenuto Pedal operation has stopped.
- The song name displayed in Piano Every Day fails to be updated when the name of a song saved in internal memory has been changed.
- Piano Every Day is not updated with the Transpose ON/OFF setting.
- Values are not updated when the tempo is changed to a faster value and the upper or lower limit is exceeded.
- Other minor bugs.

CAUTIONS WITH THE UPDATE
- We recommend that you save your user data to a USB memory before you perform the update. If a problem occurs and your user data is lost, you will be able to restore the original state by reloading the data you saved. For details on the procedure, refer to the following sections of the Owner's Manual.

If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the won't be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs. - We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.
GETTING THE UPDATE FILE
Download the file named "hp700_sys_v102.zip".
It is an archive file in zip format, please double click on the file to expand. After expanding the file, the folder "hp700_sys_v102" holding the file "R075_UPA.BIN" will be appeared.

PROCEDURE FOR THE UPDATE
Creating the Update USB Memory

- Copy update files R075_UPA.BIN to the root directory of a USB Memory.

- Open the keyboard cover.
Opening the keyboard cover automatically turns on the power. - Press and hold the power button to turn off the power.
Pressing and holding the power button makes the message "Don't disconnect the power." appear on the display. When the display disappears, the power is turned off. - Connect the USB Memory to the USB memory Port on the digital piano.
- Hold down the [ Piano Designer ] button and turn on the power to the digital piano.
Continue to hold down the [ Piano Designer ] button until " ===update=== " appears on the display.
The message " ===update=== " appears on the display, and the update operation starts.
* The display might disappear for about 20 seconds while the update is in progress. Wait for the display to reappear. - When the message " =update finished.= " appears, the update operation has finished.
* The update operation takes about 2 minutes. - Press and hold the power button to turn off the power.
Detach the USB Memory from the digital piano.
