JUPITER-Xm System Program (Ver.1.10)

HOW TO KNOW THE VERSION

Before you start, check the system program version of your JUPITER-Xm.

Press [ MENU ] to invoke the MENU screen.
Use the [ 1 ] knob or the [ PAGE ] button to select INFORMATION, then press the [ ENTER ] button.
The version information screen appears.

* If this shows the latest version, there's no need to update your JUPITER-Xm.
* If the current version is 1.01 or earlier, upgrading using this updater is not possible. Please consult the Customer Center.

Additional Functions / Functionality Improvements
Please refer to the "JUPITER-Xm Version 1.10 Supplementary Manual" for detailed information in the [ Owner's Manuals ].

The ZEN-Core Tone Import function is supported (MENU > UTILITY > IMPORT TONE).
SYSTEM > AGING parameters were organized and added.
The STEP EDIT function supports the TR-REC input method.
Also, a pattern created using STEP EDIT can now be played as part of an arpeggio immediately after exiting STEP EDIT.
A Keyboard Input Range was added to I-ARPEGGIO. A lead can be played with the right-hand while playing an arpeggio with the left.
Interlinking with Apple MainStage is supported.
AIRA LINK is supported.
Audio and MIDI connections to the AIRA MIXER MX-1 can be made using a single USB cable.
An Arp Sync function was added to I-ARPEGGIO (MENU > SYSTEM > ARPEGGIO).
Playing with I-ARPEGGIO's beat or measures synced to an external sequencer is now possible.
Drive Sw, Part Level, and AGE were added to controller assignments for SL1, SL2, and the like.
The functionality of the [1] through [10] buttons can now be customized when in the PART mode.
PITCH, FILTER, and AMP settings for ENVELOPE and LFO can now each be made independently using the panel even during tone play for models other than JUPITER, JUNO, JX, and SH.
It is now possible to change the MODEL and CATEGORY by direct cursor movement using the cursor buttons at the MODEL BANK screen.
It is now possible to switch TRANSPOSE ON or OFF using the TRANSPOSE button.
TONEs were added.
Some SCENE settings were changed to support new parameters.

Bug Fixes
The following bugs were fixed.

SCENE COMMON > VOICE RSRV failed to function.
When multiple categories have been arranged using MODEL BUTTON ASSIGN, only the first category is selectable (version 1.03).
The screen sometimes changes to the wrong display when a control is operated while holding down the [ SHIFT ] button.
Other minor bugs.

[ Ver.1.03 ] NOV 2019

The Aging function, by which the sound changes according to the unit's internal temperature, has been improved.
- The change in sound when Aging is set to ON was modified to change in a more analog manner.
- The [MENU] > Information screen now displays the unit's internal temperature.
- When Aging is set to ON, the SCENE screen now displays the virtual internal temperature.
- An Aging Initial Temperature parameter for virtually simulating the unit's initial internal temperature was added to the SYSTEM parameters.
- Operation when the assignment feature's AUTO TUNING function is set to ON was modified to change in a more analog manner.
Portment Curve was added to the TONE parameters for the JUPITER, JUNO, JX, and SH models.
Icons are now used to indicate parts on the display. The display was improved to enable setting status to be understood at a glance.
Shortcuts to the respective editing pages were added to the MENU screen.
Other minor bug fixes and improvements in functionality were made.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO UPDATE

USB Memory
* The USB Memory need to be formatted on a JUPITER-Xm.

GETTING THE UPDATE FILE

Please open/extract the downloaded "jupiterxm_sys_v110.zip" file on your computer to get the update file in the "jupiterxm_sys_v110" folder.

PROCEDURE FOR THE UPDATE

Creating the Update USB Memory

Copy update files KY023_UPA_up.bin to the root directory of a USB Memory.

Update Procedure

Connect the USB Memory to the USB MEMORY port.
Hold down the [ FUNCTION ] button and turn on the power.
The message " JUPITER Updater... " appears on the display, and the update operation starts.
* Continue to hold down the [ FUNCTION ] button until " JUPITER Updater... " appears on the display.

When the message " Please power off " appears, the update operation has finished.
* The update operation takes about 2 minutes.
Press the power button to turn off the power.
Detach the USB Memory from the JUPITER-Xm.

This completes the update operation. The new system program runs at the next startup.
Follow the procedure for verifying the version to verify that the version has been updated.

In no event shall Roland Corporation be liable to end-users for any damages whatsoever, including but not limited to financial damages for any loss of profits or information arising from the use of, or inability to use this updater. The foregoing provision is effective even if Roland Corporation has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

This is a legal agreement between you (an individual or a corporation) and Roland Corporation (herein referred to as "Roland") regarding the usage of this software product (herein referred to as "SOFTWARE"). Please read carefully the terms of this License Agreement before installing or using the SOFTWARE. By installing, copying, or starting the use of the SOFTWARE, you hereby consent to the terms of this License Agreement.

1. GRANT OF LICENSE

Roland grants you the following non-exclusive rights to use the SOFTWARE in accordance with the terms of this License Agreement.
(a) You may only use the SOFTWARE on a specific single computer at one time. Use of the SOFTWARE shall include loading the SOFTWARE into temporary memory (i.e., RAM) or installing the SOFTWARE into storage media (i.e., hard disk) of the computer on which you will use the SOFTWARE.
(b) You may make one copy of the SOFTWARE for backup purposes only (on floppy disk, magneto optical disk, DAT or the similar media), but you are prohibited to make any other copy.

2. COPYRIGHT

The SOFTWARE and its copyrights are the property of Roland and are protected by all international copyright laws and treaties.
Therefore, you must treat the SOFTWARE like any other copyrighted material (i.e., a book or a CD). All rights that are not provided for herein are reserved by Roland.

3. OTHER RESTRICTIONS

(a) You shall not modify, change, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the SOFTWARE and the copyright notice and copyrighted logo.
Unauthorized copying, uploading to another network, distributing, modifying and/or attaching this software to other media or any other sales item is expressly forbidden.
(b) You shall not loan, rent, lease, sublicense or transfer the SOFTWARE, either in whole or in part, to any third party. But you may permanently transfer the SOFTWARE and accompanying printed materials provided you retain no copies of the Software and recipient agrees to the terms of this License Agreement. If the SOFTWARE has been updated or upgraded, any transfer of the SOFTWARE must include the most recent update and all prior versions.
(c) If this SOFTWARE contains multiple templates of media (such as floppy disks and CD-ROM) and these media contain the same software, you may use only the one form of media that is appropriate for your computer. You shall not use the remaining form(s) of media on another computer.
(d) You may not use the Software from multiple locations of a multi-user or networked system at any time.

3.2 Open source software and other third party software
(a) The SOFTWARE may use open source software and other third party software (herein referred to as "OSS, etc.").
(b) The OSS, etc. in the case of the preceding paragraph shall be subject to the OSS, etc. license (herein referred to as "OSS License"), and you shall comply with the OSS License.
(c) If there are any differences between the terms of this License Agreement and the OSS License, the OSS License shall prevail and the terms of this License Agreement shall not apply.

4. NO WARRANTY

Roland makes no warranty, either expressed or implied, with respect to any of the software, including, without limitation, any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

5. NO LIABILITY

Roland can not reply to inquiries regarding this system software updater. Please read the instructions completely, and please note that you should use the SOFTWARE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
In no event shall Roland be liable to end-users for any damages whatsoever, including but not limited to financial damages for any loss of profits or information arising from the use of, or inability to use this product. The foregoing provision is effective even if Roland has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Even if the SOFTWARE has any material, verifiable, and reproducible program errors, Roland shall have no liability to modify such errors.

6. TERMINATION OF THE LICENSE

Roland reserves the right to terminate this License Agreement if you fail to comply with any of the terms of this License Agreement. Upon such termination, you shall immediately stop using the SOFTWARE.

7. GENERAL

(a) Any provision of this Agreement which is prohibited or unenforceable in any jurisdiction shall be ineffective to the extent of such prohibition or unenforceability without affecting, impairing or invalidating the remaining provisions hereof.
(b) This License Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of State of California without reference to the principles of conflicts of laws.
