AIRA Modular System Program (Ver.1.05)

This system program updates the AIRA Modular ( BITRAZER, DEMORA, TORCIDO, SCOOPER ) system program to the latest version 1.05.

What you will need to update your AIRA Modular
  • BITRAZER, DEMORA, TORCIDO, SCOOPER
  • AC adaptor
  • USB cable ( A-microB type )
  • A computer with a USB connector ( Windows / MacOS X )


How to tell the version
Please check the version of the system working on your AIRA Modular before downloading the archive file.
  1. Hold down [ GRF 6 ] button, and switch on the power.
  2. Connect the computer to the AIRA Modular's USB port by a USB cable.
  3. Open the "AIRAMODULAR" drive folder in your personal computer.
  4. Open VERSION.TXT in the AIRAMODULAR drive, and check the version.
  5. Close VERSION.TXT, end the USB connection on the computer, then disconnect the USB cable.
  6. Turn the AIRA Modular power off.
* If this shows the latest version, there's no need to update your AIRA Modular.

BITRAZER
[ Functionality Improvement ]
  • The effective range for BIT DOWN was adjusted.
DEMORA
  • Internal processing has been improved.
    * There is no change affecting the product specification.
TORCIDO
[ Functionality Improvement ]
  • The effective range for TUBE WARM was adjusted.
SCOOPER
[ Additional Function ]
  • An overdub function was added.
    * When the overdub function is switched on, input via the INPUT 1 and 2 connectors is always throughput.

    Making the Overdub Setting
    1. Hold down the [ REC/PLAY ] button and turn on the power.
    2. Use the [ SYNC TRIG ] button to set the overdub function on or off.
      [ SYNC TRIG ] button lighted : On
      [ SYNC TRIG ] button dark : Off
    3. Press the [ REC/PLAY ] button to quit the settings for the overdub function.

    Using Overdub
    < Overdub >
    During loop playback, press the [ REC/PLAY ] button.
    * During overdubbing, the [ REC/PLAY ] button lights up, and the center indicator lights up in orange.
    < Playback >
    While stopped or during overdubbing, press the [ REC/PLAY ] button.
    * During playback, the [ REC/PLAY ] button lights up, and the center indicator lights up in blue.
    < Stopping >
    During overdubbing or loop playback, press the [ REC/PLAY ] button two times in succession.
    * Press the button twice within 1 second.


Caution when performing the update
  • Never apply this update data to any product other than the BITRAZER, DEMORA, TORCIDO or SCOOPER. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
  • Never power-off your AIRA Modular while the update is in progress!
    If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the AIRA Modular won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
  • We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.


Getting the update file
Please open/extract the downloaded "airamod_sys_v105.zip" file on your computer to get the update file in the "airamod_sys_v105" folder.


Procedure for the update
Caution
  • You must not rename the extracted file.
  • Never turn off the AIRA Modular's power while the update is in progress. Otherwise the system program or the AIRA Modular itself may be destroyed.

Please install the extracted system program file into your AIRA Modular according to the following procedure.
  1. Hold down [ GRF 6 ] button, and switch on the power.
  2. Connect the computer to the AIRA Modular's USB port by a USB cable.
  3. Open the "AIRAMODULAR" drive folder in your personal computer.
  4. Copy AIRA_MODULAR_UPD.BIN in the "airamod_sys_v105" folder into the "AIRAMODULAR" drive by dragging and dropping it.
    * Do not copy the "airamod_sys_v105" folder.
  5. After copying the file is completed, remove the USB drive from the personal computer.
    With Windows 10 / 8 / 7
    Right-click on the "AIRAMODULAR" icon in My Computer and execute "Eject."
    With Mac OS X
    Drag the "AIRAMODULAR" icon to the Trush icon in the Dock.
  6. Disconnect the USB cable.
    The center indicator lights up in light blue, and the [ GRF 6 ] button flashes.
  7. Press the [ GRF 6 ] button to start updating the file.
    While the update is in progress, the center indicator lights up in white and GRF 5 and GRF 6 light up in alternation.
  8. When the update ends, the center indicator flashes in blue, and GRF 5 and GRF 6 also flash.
  9. Turn the AIRA Modular power off.
    Please verify the version number with the procedure described in "How to tell the version" part of this document.
