V-800HD System Program Version 1.55
This system program updates the V-800HD system program to the latest version 1.55.
Important Notice For the upgrade from the V-800HD of earlier than version 1.50, the memory is not preserved. At the first booting after update, factory reset is executed automatically. * For the upgrade from the V-800HD of version 1.50, the memory is preserved. |
How to know the version
Before you start, check the system program version of your V-800HD.
- Turn V-800HD power OFF.
- While holding down [ OUTPUT FADE ON ], turn power ON.
* Continue holding down OUTPUT FADE ON until the version information appears on the Seven-Segment LED display. - The version will be displayed at the center on the screen.
- Turn power OFF.

Bug Fixes
The following bugs were fixed.
- The problem of SDI input being impossible in extremely rare cases was corrected.
- Format detection for RGB input was improved, and the problem of 1,366 x 768/60 Hz being mistakenly recognized as 1,280 x 768/60 Hz was corrected.
- Internal processing has been improved.
* There is no change affecting the product specification.
Bug Fixes
The following bugs were fixed.
- The image of the composite output may be corrupt.
- The settings stored in MEMORY Buttons may be deleted after power-off.
- Rainbow noise may appear when the output format of the main output or analog outputs is switched.
- With MacBook Pro equipped with Thunderbolt connected by analog RGB, OUTPUT from V-800HD and the output image color of the preview were incorrect.
- When Output Freeze is enabled, the output assigned to the internal memory number 1 becomes pink.

- Supports 3G-SDI Level B Mapping Structure
The V-800HD ver.1.5 supports level B mapping structure of 3G-SDI (1080p50Hz, 1080p59.94Hz). - Sync with Input Video Signal
The V-800HD ver.1.50 can synchronize with SDI input. - Field Sync Processing
While the V-800HD input/output interlaced signals, synchronization of fields is possible. - A/B Mode Switching
You can select A/B mode for video switching. - AUX Output of the Input Signal
You can directly send the input channel signal to the AUX bus. - Selection of the Recalling Parameter
You can select the parameters to recall when you operate the MEMORY buttons. - Automatic Memory Save
If this is turned on, the current status of the V-800HD is saved to memory 1-1 automatically. The status is loaded at next booting and the status returns. - Expanded Color Correction Range
The range of color correction is expanded. - Fine Adjustment of Chroma Key HUE
The extraction color was fixed to blue or green in previous version. Now it's possible to fine adjust the color. - Supports Multi-view monitor not compatible with HDCP
As the multi-view monitor, now you can connect HDCP non-compatible product. - Version Number Display
You can check the version number in System menu of the V-800HD.
Bug Fix
The following bug was fixed.
- Improper method to detect a color space of DVI input.
- Improved the process for deinterlacing a interlaced video input to enhance image quality.
- Output to the multi-view monitor supports DVI-D.

What you will need to update
- V-800HD
- HDCP-compatible monitor display
- USB Memory ( Roland's M-UF2G is recommended )
* Before you start, use a computer to format the device using the FAT32 file system.
Getting the update file
Please open/extract the downloaded "v800hd_sys_v155.zip" file on your computer to get the update file named "V-800HD.PRG" in the "v800hd_sys_v155" folder.
Caution when performing the update
- Never apply this update data to any product other than the V-800HD. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
- Never power-off your V-800HD while the update is in progress!
If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the V-800HD won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs. - We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.
Procedure for the update
Creating the Update USB Memory
Update Procedure
- Copy update files V-800HD.PRG to the root directory of a USB Memory.
Update Procedure
- Connect USB memory to V-800HD's USB port. Turn the power on with pressing [ PinP1 ] + [ PinP4 ] + [ EXIT ] buttons.
- Release the buttons after displaying "Upd" on the Seven-Segment LED display under [ TRANSITION ].
- Push the [ ENTER ] button after " . "(dot) stops blinking on the Seven-Segment LED display. Then the update process will start.
- The " OK " will be displayed on the Seven-Segment LED display when the update process is completed.
- Turn the power off and un-mount the USB memory from V-800HD.
- Connect an HDCP-compatible monitor display to the HDMI OUT Connector of the V-800HD.
* Use an HDCP-compatible monitor. HDCP-incompatible monitors cannot display the menu. - Turn the power ON again with pressing [ STORE ].
The "ddC" is displayed on the Seven-Segment LED display of the V-800HD and the mode switches to "CHANGE RGB DDC".
A menu is displayed on the monitor display. - When "Push [Enter] to Start WRITING" is displayed on the bottom of the menu, press the [Enter] button to start the DDC writing.
- When "WRITE COMPLETE" is displayed on the bottom of the menu, the writing is completed.
Turn V-800HD power OFF.
* It takes approximately 40 seconds for the DDC writing. - While holding down [ OUTPUT FADE ON ] button, turn power ON.
- Check the version number on the display.
- Turn V-800HD power OFF.
