XPS-60 System Program ( Ver.1.02 )


HOW TO KNOW THE VERSION
Before you start, check the system program version of your XPS-60.
  1. Press [ MENU ] to open the MENU screen.
  2. Move the cursor to "INFORMATION" and press the [ ENTER ] button.
    Displays the system program version.
* If this shows the latest version, there's no need to update.
 
UPDATE HISTORY

[ Additional Function ]
  • The User Scale function was added.
    * For details on the specifications and operations, refer to the [ Reference Manual ].
[ Functionality Improvements ]
  • The stability of operation when switching between SCENEs has been improved.
  • Improved sound retrieval by improving the behavior when you press the Category buttons multiple times when selecting a SCENE or TONE.
  • The behavior when you press the [WORLD] button when selecting a TONE has been improved to improve sound retrieval.
  • The way the Scene number and list of WAVE Expansion tones are displayed has been changed to improve the distinguishability of tones.
  • When using the DAW CTRL function, the function to return the track playback position to the beginning by pressing [shift] + pad [1] has been added.
[ Bug Fixes ]
The following bugs have been fixed.
  • The Half-Damper function does not work when the Hold Pedal is connected.
  • The Audio Port name shown on the PC when connected to a PC has been fixed.
  • Minor bugs were fixed.
 
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO UPDATE
  • XPS-60
  • USB Memory
    * The USB Memory need to be formatted on a XPS-60.
 
CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE
  • Never apply this update data to any product other than the XPS-60. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
  • Never power-off your XPS-60 while the update is in progress!
    If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the XPS-60 won't be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
  • We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.
 
GETTING THE UPDATE FILE
  1. Read the software license agreement at the bottom of the screen and select the "I agree" check box.
  2. Click the "Download File" button to download the system program (xps60_sys_v102.zip).
  3. Unarchive the downloaded file.
    • Windows: Right-click the file and select "Extract All," then click "Extract".
    • macOS: Double-click the file to unzip it.
 
PROCEDURE FOR THE UPDATE
Caution
  • You must not rename the extracted files.
  • Never turn off the XPS-60's power while the update is in progress.
 
Creating the Update USB flash drive
  1. Copy "XPS60_UPA_up.bin" to the level displayed immediately on accessing the USB flash drive (the USB flash drive's root directory).
 
Update Procedure
  1. Connect the USB Memory to the USB MEMORY port.
  2. Hold down the [ WRITE ] button and turn on the power.
    The message " Updater... " appears on the display, and the update operation starts.
    * Continue to hold down the [ WRITE ] button until " Updater... " appears on the display.
  3. When the message " Please power off " appears, the update operation has finished.
    * The update operation takes about 4 minutes.
  4. Press the power button to turn off the power.
    Detach the USB Memory from the XPS-60.

    This completes the update operation. The new system program runs at the next startup.
    Follow the procedure for verifying the version to verify that the version has been updated.
